Dear Clients,

NUMBER ONE – Congratulations to the parents of seniors who are graduating! Especially the one who have been with me since middle school, even a few from elementary school! Wow! I feel I’ve been blessed to be a big part of their lives and I will MISS them like CRAZY. Always know my door is open the kids and parents for a visit or to grab a bite to eat when they are in town.

And of course to everyone in general . . .thank you for another great school year and I do hope you are all happy with the results and progress your children have made with the help of music lessons.

Congrats to students who won major awards & scholarships, placement in honor band(s) or the Los Angeles Youth Philharmonic Orchestra/Band (LAYPO) or The Conejo Valley Youth Orchestra (CVYO), Essentially Ellington at New York’s Lincoln Center – and Las Vegas (NPHS)!  For those who tried and did not make honor bands – fret not! I hope they did see that the preparation was valuable and that it still took them to “the next level” as many student kept their “chair” placement in band or moved up!

OKAY – Here we go. With the end of the school year coming quickly, things get crazy, so I’m getting an early jump on organizing the summer music lesson schedule. Keep reading — the main dish is below . . .

  • SUMMER SCHEDULE / SCHEDULE CHANGES . . .
    • On or around Monday, June 19, 2023 – I will be switching to my “summer schedule” and will be posting the daily schedule update online.
    • This means the school year lesson schedules are locked in for the next year’s 2023-24 school session, in the fall, for returning students. > LINK

  • LESSONS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON MONDAY LATE AFTERNOONS -THURSDAYS
    • With students in and out of town — my student load reduces greatly over the summer, so I am consolidating my schedule to Tuedays-Wednesdays-Thursdays.
    • Many students can take lessons in the morning/late morning & early afternoon depending on any personal activities that day so if that works for you, we can schedule that.
    • I will do my best to be super flexible for students looking to keep their skills up over the summer so they don’t slip or slide back losing their hard earned gains. Which means I might bend my schedule to book an appointment/appointments on a summer “non-workday”. To see if I am working on any particular day, I do my best to keep a DAILY updated schedule simply called “Daily Schedule

  • LESSONS ON AN APPOINTMENT BY APPOINTMENT BASIS
      • Those who cannot keep a consistent scheduled lesson time due to summer vacations, I recommend scheduling lessons “by appointment” on a “week to week” basis. I will have many openings and I may be flexible to take a student in a time slot that says “on hold” or “by request” – even some weekends when I will be in town on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
      • You can then check the “DAILY SCHEDULE” link for lesson openings, then email me to book a time.
      • As time slots fill up – I will add more openings.
      • If you want to request a lesson at a time that works for you, email me. If I’m in town, I will do my best to accommodate a lesson time!
      • Any lessons that need to be canceled, please notify me ONLY THE WEEK BEFORE  your plans come up.  Any more notice than that gets lost in old emails.

  • JUST A FEW FACTS, RULES AND POLICY UPDATE:
    • I recommend students try to take lessons at least 2-3 times a month so the work you put in all year does not fade.

  • MUSIC LESSONS ONLINE / ON ZOOM!
    • If your son/daughter is traveling and can take their instrument, we can always have lessons over the internet!
    • TIPS: Make sure they travel with their books, but if they forget to do that it only takes a minute for me to scan and send the PDF music via text, email or/and install on their practice page. Take along a laptop or ipad they can for zoom lessons if available as they are better than a smartphone.
    • If you’re working and can’t get your son/daughter here for a lesson – online is a great option. Most of their music is on their practice page, or they can scan their music and send it to me before their lesson.

  • FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL – August 23 (LVUSD & CVUSD)

      • School starts back up around August 23 for most schools and lessons might start up sooner as many high schools have their “chair placement” auditions a few days after the first day of school, so I will be around to help them prep for that!
