2024 SUMMER SCHEDULE MESSAGE / POLICY

SUMMER MUSIC LESSON SCHEDULE CHANGES – how to transition and make it work!

TO ALL CLIENTS, PLEASE FILL OUT THIS QUESTIONNAIRE ONLINE regarding summer lesson plans > CLICK HERE

Dear Clients,

NUMBER ONE – Congratulations to the parents of seniors who are graduating! Especially the one who have been with me since middle school, even a few from elementary school! Wow! I feel I’ve been blessed to be a big part of their lives and I will MISS them like CRAZY. Always know my door is open the kids and parents for a visit or to grab a bite to eat when they are in town.

And of course, to everyone in general . . .thank you for another great school year and I do hope you are all happy with the results and progress your children have made with the help of music lessons.

Congrats to students who won major awards & scholarships, placement in honor band(s) or the Los Angeles Youth Philharmonic Orchestra/Band (LAYPO) or The Conejo Valley Youth Orchestra (CVYO), Essentially Ellington at New York’s Lincoln Center, Las Vegas & Riverside!

For those who tried and did not make honor bands – fret not! I hope they did see that the preparation was valuable and that it still took them to “the next level” as many students kept their “chair” placement in band or moved up!

OKAY – Here we go. With the end of the school year coming quickly, things get crazy, so I’m getting an early jump on organizing the summer music lesson schedule. LEARN MORE . . .

  • SUMMER SCHEDULE / SCHEDULE CHANGES . . .
      • On Monday, June 17, 2024 – I will be switching to my “summer schedule” and will be posting the daily schedule update online.
      • This means the school year lesson schedules are locked in for the next year’s 2024-25 school session, in the fall, for returning students. > LINK

  • LESSONS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON MONDAY LATE AFTERNOONS TO WEDNESDAYS. I may add Thursdays.
      • With students in and out of town — my student load reduces greatly over the summer, so I am consolidating my schedule to Monday to Wednesdays – possibly adding Thursday.
      • Many students can take lessons in the morning/late morning & early afternoon depending on any personal activities that day so if that works for you, we can schedule that.
      • I will do my best to be super flexible for students looking to keep their skills up over the summer, so they don’t slip or slide back losing their hard-earned gains. Which means I might bend my schedule to book lessons on almost any day during the summer when I am in town.
      • To see if I am working on any particular day, I do my best to keep an updated schedule for the summer. Here is THE LINK – remember to bookmark it.

  • LESSONS ON AN APPOINTMENT BY APPOINTMENT BASIS
      • Those who cannot keep a consistent scheduled lesson time due to summer vacations, I prefer scheduling lessons “by appointment” on a “week to week” basis. When I’m in town I may add openings on Thurs-Sundays. Again, check the summer schedule or shoot me an email to request a lesson on any other day.
      • As the schedule books out – I am open to adding more openings, again just request it.
      • If you want to request a lesson at a time that works for you, email me. If I’m in town, I will do my best to accommodate a lesson time!
      • Last minute vacations do come up — so if you need to cancel, please do it ASAP. – I will do the same.

  • MUSIC LESSONS ONLINE / ON ZOOM!
    • If your son/daughter is traveling and can take their instrument, we can always have lessons over the internet!
    • TIPS: Make sure they travel with their books, but if they forget to do that it only takes a minute for me to scan and send the PDF music via text, email or/and install on their practice page. Take along a laptop or ipad they can for zoom lessons if available as they are better than a smartphone.
    • If you’re working and can’t get your son/daughter here for a lesson – online is a great option. Most of their music is on their practice page, or they can scan their music and send it to me before their lesson.

  • FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL – August 21 (LVUSD & CVUSD)

      • School starts back up around August 21 for most schools and lessons might start up sooner as many high schools have their “chair placement” auditions a few days after the first day of school, so I do my best to be available for lessons at that time.
      • I will also do my best to update the new school year music lesson schedule.
